Shingles Vaccine Reduces Long-Term Pain in Women:
Shingles patients often develop Postherpetic Neuralgia (PHN), long-term pain that is a complication of the condition. More than 10% of unvaccinated women developed PHN, but only 4% of vaccinated women developed PHN. (Vaccinated and unvaccinated men had a roughly 6% chance of developing PHN.)
The US Advisory Council on Immunization Practices recommends that all people age 60 and over be vaccinated against shingles. Our professional staff is certified to administer the shingles vaccine.

Need a Good Reason to Get Your Flu Shot This Year?
Here are Three:

1) Arthritis ups your risk--certain types of inflammatory arthritis affect the immune system, which may make you more likely to get the flu, or become sicker with it, than most people without arthritis.
2) Some medications raise your risk--certain arthritis medications, biologics, and corticosteroids interfere with the immune system, making it more difficult for your body to fight off the flu, leaving you vulnerable to complications.
3) The vaccine changes--strains of the flu virus constantly change, so the vaccine may change each year. Plus, your body's response to the vaccine decreases over time.
